Hello! I’m just like you—a kid who loves playing games, watching videos, and learning cool stuff online. But guess what? The internet can sometimes be tricky and not always safe. That’s why I’m sharing 7 quick tips I learned that can help keep you and your friends safe while using the internet. Let’s go!
- Don’t Talk to Strangers Online
Just like how we don’t talk to strangers on the street, we should also not talk to strangers on games or chats. If someone you don’t know messages you, tell an adult right away. - Keep Your Password a Secret
Your password is like your superhero power. Don’t share it with friends, and never write it where others can see. Only share it with your parents or guardians. - Ask Before You Click
If a pop-up says “You won a prize!” or something weird appears, don’t click it! Always ask an adult first. Some of those clicks can lead to bad stuff. - Be Kind Online
Being nice online is just as important as being nice in school. Don’t bully, laugh at others, or post mean stuff. Treat others how you want to be treated. - Don’t Share Personal Info
Never tell your full name, address, school name, or phone number to anyone online. That info is private and only for your family to know. - Use Safe Websites Only
Stick to websites your parents say are okay. Safe websites are made just for kids like us and are way more fun too! - Talk to a Grown-Up If Something Feels Wrong
If you see something scary, weird, or confusing, tell a parent or teacher right away. You are never alone, and there’s always someone who can help.
